Melton Mowbray - the Rural Capital of Food - is well known for stilton and pork pies. We were asked to rebrand the Shoppe to reflect their handcrafted, local and fresh ethos, whilst still recalling the history and heritage of the town and shop.
Rich in heritage and history, it’s no secret the area has royal ties. In its heart, dating back to 1851, you can find Ye Olde Pork Pie Shoppe selling hand-crafted pork pies and local products.
The King of Pies became our brand idea, with a simple yet elegant illustration of a pie crown used alongside the bold type inspired by ghost signs within the shoppe itself. All adding up to tell a remarkable story of a remarkable product.
To capture the essence of hand-crafted pies we shot with the Pie King himself, chef Calum Franklin and renowned food photographer, John Carey.
